RNLI Aldeburgh lifeboat launched to assist in the search of a missing person. RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat (ILB), the ‘Susan Scott’, was launched on Thursday 29 April, at approximately 2.45pm, following a Coastguard request, to assist in the search of a missing person off Sizewell beach, north of Aldeburgh

RNLI Aldeburgh ILB was tasked by the Coastguard to launch, following a report of a person missing off Sizewell beach. They were requested to carry out a coastline search, from Sizewell towards Dunwich, while liaising with several local Coastguard teams. There were concerns, as there was a sea swell and a cold wind.

The casualty was later found on shore and, as they were safe and well, the ILB was stood down and returned to station.

24thJune 2021

RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat called to a report of a kitesurfer in difficulty. RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat (ILB), the ‘Susan Scott’, was launched on Thursday 24 June, at approximately 6.40pm, following a report of a kitesurfer in difficulty off Shingle Street, south of Aldeburgh.

RNLI Aldeburgh ILB was launching on exercise, when a call came into the lifeboat station requesting assistance for a kitesurfer in difficulty. The Coastguard were informed and tasked the ILB to attend. On arrival at scene, it was apparent the tide had fortunately taken the casualty onto shore. Once the lifeboat crew had ensured that the casualty was safe and well, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station at 8.10pm

RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat launched to a report of a stranded yacht. RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat (ILB), the ‘Susan Scott’, was launched on Sunday 6 June, at approximately 11.15, following a Coastguard request, to assist a stranded 22 foot yacht , south of Aldeburgh

RNLI Aldeburgh ILB was tasked by the Coastguard to launch, following a report of a 22 foot yacht, with one person on board, that had gone aground in Butley Creek, south of Aldeburgh. Once on scene, the ILB attempted to tow the yacht off the mud, without success. After discussions, ensuring they had enough food and water, it was decided that the casualty crew would remain onboard and wait for the next high tide to get afloat.

The ILB was stood down and returned to station at 1.20pm.

11thJuly 2021

RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat called to a report of a motorboat in difficulty. RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat (ILB), the ‘Susan Scott’, was launched on Sunday 11 July, at approximately 6.52pm, following a report of a motorboat in difficulty south of Aldeburgh.

RNLI Aldeburgh ILB was launched in the River Alde, at the request of the Coastguard, following a report of a 17 foot motorboat, with engine failure, at Havergate Island, south of Aldeburgh. There were four persons and a dog on board the casualty boat. Once on scene, the lifeboat crew attached a tow line and the casualty was then taken to Orford Quay. The lifeboat crew assisted in getting the motorboat on the trailer and once they had ensured that the casualty was safe and secure, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station at 9.30pm.
